I live in London ontario zone 5 (I think). I have a 30 foot long stretch of fence I want to build a privacy hedge for. I live next to a 5 storey condo. I only have about 10 feet from the house to fence to work with and will still need to walk through. I'd say about 3 to 4 hours of sun a day. The hedge would be on south side of house.I was going to do emerald greens bit I fear not high enough and too slow. I'm now open to deciduous but want at least 20 feet high... probably 30. I'm leaning towards small trees with trunks not higher than the fence or tall fast growing shrubs suggestions. I don't know if planting smaller type trees that close to the house is okay?I don't mind the overgrown secret garden look and am willing to maintain the walkway by pruning... I just won't be able to manage the tops at 30ish feet.

I'm new to gardening so any ideas would be great! Please help. Really desire the privacy!
