What do you suppose happens in climates where it rains regularly all year round? Do we spray every time it rains? ie potentially every day? And anyway, to rephrase, 'fruit trees also get all sorts of diseases when it's not raining.'

I suggest you do much more research before assuming you need to spray. Identify the potential or real problem and then research the appropriate action. Just spraying on a hunch isn't good practice. As for using Pyrethrins 'just in case' that is both useless and dangerous advice. They are contact poisons - they won't prevent insect pests so there is absolutely no point in spraying with them unless there is a visible and clearly identified pest. They also kill indiscriminately, including your pollinators, and are sufficiently dangerous to have been banned in many countries.

And please could you give your location in posts? That makes a big difference to growing anything.

Growing fruit in different locations posts different challenging. Some bugs or diseases are common inthe east coast but not in the west, etc.

it is important to let people know where you live. Also, it is a good start to read article, fact sheets from your loacl university extension to get ideas what problem of fruit trees in your area. Many university extensions have fact sheets i apples, pears, plums for home growers ( as opposed to commercial)

preventative measures are good if you know what you are preventing. Otherwise, it is a waste of time, energy and resources.

i do not mean to be unhelpful but if you have basic ideas of what out there in your local area, you gain an advantage and can target spray more efficiently.
