Toe kicks

I notice the custom cabinets do not have toe kicks, in accordance with early 20th century style. What do you think of the points made for toe kicks 1) that they prevent you standing an uncomfortable distance from the counter as you work and 2) that they keep invisible any dirt mopped onto the bottom of cabinets when washing the kitchen floor? I am debating toe kicks vs. no toe kicks for the kitchen in my 1922 bungalow.

This is my kitchen that I have lived with for several years. Based on my experience I would say that toe kicks are unnecessary for toe space. I have never noticed my feet needing more room. In terms of cleaning, they have not been a problem. I have seen original kitchens with dirty bases, some with tile base also.

Toe kicks make it easier to install cabinets. It is much more difficult and expensive to install cabinets that have no toe kick.
