Spring has arrived--my first blooms

I've been in the hospital with pneumonia for the past couple weeks, but I'm home now--recovering, feeling much better--and so happy to see that my roses can do a pretty good job of taking care of themselves.

I didn't have the energy to photograph all the open roses, but here are a few that I was especially eager to see how they were doing.

Scepter'd Isle--one of my favorite Austins.

Scepter'd Isle

Boule de Neige--the lovely OGR (Bourbon, Hybrid Perpetual, Noisette) that I spent several years searching for before I finally found one. This is its first year throwing out blooms all over the place! (That's Ghislaine de Feligonde way in the background.)

Ghislaine de Feligonde--Hybrid Multiflora, Hybrid Musk, Rambler--first year it put out a decent bloom!

Pompernel--only about half opened.

Lady of Shalott--love that sharp modern color cutting through the air!

Need to rest now. Hopefully I'll be more lively tomorrow.

Kate
