There is a house near me with colors like yours, and they painted their door yellow. It looks awesome.

I was thinking about yellow because I think yellow, blue and white go nicely together, but I'm a bit leery as it's a pretty bold color. All the other homes in the area are either deep gray, dark brown or black. As it is the blue on my house really sticks out on the block so I was looking for something more subtle I guess.

Thanks Sharon. Yes there is me and one other owner that are rebels here :) Their house is an olive green. I just found all those dark homes so depressing to look at.

Don't discount Navy, which would really pop with the white trim -- and work well with the siding and stonework. Might not be as bold as a sunny yellow or crimson, but it has understated elegance.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll check out a deep red, navy and see if I can maybe even find a really dark yellow. I'll get samples that I can paint onto poster board and tape it to the door to get an idea of what it might look like.

A bright yellow would look fabulous. Actually, almost any looks great with grey. It is all a matter of what appeals to your taste and what color you like the most.

I like Sharon Joyce's ideas if you don't want yellow. I did a quick photoshop of what they could look like (Black/bronze or your silver hardware would be better, I just didn't edit out the gold from the picture I used)

I hate to use a dark color when it's already under an overhang, and you don't want it to roast in the evening. I'd go for a deeper gold (maybe even toward ochre) or a medium reddish tone. You can always try some samples on cardboard and lean them up there to test your nerve! :)
