Remember me? The person, not the hosta!

Hello all you fine folks at the Hosta Forum. I haven't been here for too long. I've been spending too much time on Facebook gardening group pages. It's nice to get an update and read all your goings-on.

My hosta season is stalled right now. Like some of you I'm sure, I'm dealing with colder than usual temperatures and so much rain! Too much rain, even for hostas! I hope that this is the week that turns things around and I can get out there and play with them. Some hostas have unfurled (the ones I'm hoping don't get frostbite tonight - they're covered with overturned pots and sheets) and others are barely poking through the soil.

Bought myself a treat the other day: Raspberry Sundae. It's just a pip right now but if internet pictures don't lie (!!!) I think this one will be a stunner.

Posting just one pic today to get myself back in the swing of things - little Moonstruck, who has come up looking very perky. I hope to post a lot more photos in the next couple of months. My "Hosta Walk" is in its 5th growing season and should look very pretty this year. Happy hostas, everyone!

      Welcome back. Yes a much colder than normal spring. I'm two weeks behind in southern Ontario. Which is a bit of a blessing considering there was frost last night and frost forecast again tonight. Brrrr.

      I like you plant marker. It does not look like those intrusive tags standing up disturbing the beauty of your hosta.

      Thanks marquest. After trying a variety of marker things, I find that writing on good sized rocks works the best. They're big enough not to get lost in the garden, big enough to see so I don't trip on them, but not so big as to be intrusive. I use paint pens from a craft store. Not ink, paint. Lasts much longer. For the ones in more sun I have to touch them up every couple of years.

      Hostanista- There are many new names posting here this year, and I've been wondering where some of the "old" posters went. Very re-assuring to see a familiar name and that you are still growing magnificent specimens.

      Nice to see you back! I really like moonstruck! It seems most of us are in the same boat as far as this spring goes. The past month or so has been really wet and really cool. I have some hosta with freeze damage when they got teased to pip in our warm March. Now lately I have a lot that are takingFOREVER to unfurl. Just hope everything looks good by June.

      OMG woodnative what a good memory you have! Yes Mr. Cooper the aussiedoodle is as smart and wonderful as ever, even if he does sit on the occasional hosta!

      Welcome back, nice to have a returned forum member, we could do with more Hosta veterans to help all the new posters with their addiction.

      Hi Hostanista, I remember you too. I just popped back on the forum myself. I like to visit during the spring and summer. By fall I've moved on to painting, furniture refinishing, etc. Welcome back, Wendy
