Yeah, my tile guy talked me into this expensive grout and I HATE it. The only poor choice I made in the whole remodel. My grout gets mold and this stuff is much harder to clean....just say NO!

The problem with epoxy grout is that while it bonds as cement after 24 hours (good for guaranteed waterproofing - apparently); if it is not applied carefully, and above all, removed from the tiles after grouting, it can be a real pain to remove.

I just had a tiler use it in a job for a client. He didn't remove it properly and this was high priced glossy and matte tile. It basically took the shine away from the tile. So it took approximately 30 minutes per tile to remove the residual epoxy grout. Painful.

One other point - please make sure that if you are using epoxy grout on both the floor and the walls, they change the colour to match the tiles!!!! (Thus you pay twice!!!)

Thanks for comments. I listened them and to the tile installer and "just said no" to the epoxy. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth for sure.

Have had great success with it the tile installer has to know how to use it correctly you don't have to seal it it doesn't grow mold and is waterproofing hence the sealing there's different epoxy grouts out there do your homework
