Blackberry Rooting

last modified: 9 years ago

I'm getting better at this gardening thing, learning as I go, however, I am having some trouble, I need help ASAP. I purchased a blackberry plant, it came as a couple of clippings with a few roots on the bottom... I soaked them for a few hours while I got a huge pot ready, figuring, I baby my plants, I can start it off & get it nice & strong in a huge pot first before planting it in the ground. I mixed mostly manure & compost, prob 60%, the rest is perlite, peat moss, fertilizer & a small amount of top soil. I bought it from TX and live in CT... normally by now its warm but we are having a cold spell, I hope that is not affecting it at all. Any help would be appreciated! Any tips, anything I am doing wrong? Should I bring it inside or leave it out? Thanks so much & God Bless!
