Need direction in gray bedroom

Hi! I have started decorating our master and have hit a design rut. I wanted a calm, cozy grey room but can't seem to figure out where to go now with headboard, pops of color, to make it light, airy and romantic. Suggestions??

stencil the wall with a pearl overall design. Add pops of color in pillows and accentrs. They can be changed when you get tired of that color.

You've done a great job so far on the basics!

Thank you Barnhart Gallery!! You think adding taupes with the dark gray is ok?

I agree with Barnhart Gallery, you've done a great job so far.
Here are some images I found that made me think of your room.. for the bed wall, you could put a huge piece of art, pictures frames or even a painted pattern. For the colors to match with the dark grey: yellow, teal or even coral would look amazing.
    Good luck :)

I think that throw on the bed needs to be switched out.

Marcelle, I am not sure which colors you both like but grey is neutral, so just about any color would work with it. Here are a few examples. And you can check out our page for more art, both in monochrome and in color... Raisa

The room has character already !! I think all you need is headboard in lighter taupe or silvery gray, and lamps in teal, or mustard yellow , or coral, or lavender, depending on what color you consider romantic.

I quite like where you are going, however adding some punch / rug / bed cover would be smart. I recommend two white wooden slatted blinds with grey tapes and tie/dress your curtains back. Bed cover for a more tailored look, add two smart pillows/cushions for drama and touch of class.. Best regards Malcolm

Check out my art for the space above your bed. I have both originals and canvas prints that I can customize to your size. I have had the first painting I'm posting on a charcoal wall and it looks stunning. Many more at my link.

    Have fun decorating!

I feel the curtains are too dark and would do a white or a geometric pattern on a white background for curtains to lighten the room..and make it more airy....the bed needs a pair of large bedside lamps,(pottery barn) possibly white round or glass w/white shades......and nothing adds romance like a chandlier........I would keep it white and light to keep it romantic ...and get the bacis before adding much color.....good luck

Definitely white curtains. With white bedding. It would really pop against your paint colour

Change panels to a metallic silver panels in satin very full. Go floor to ceiling. Headboard very tall over 6 ft. Black velvet. With silver nailhead around outside. Put a metallic silver comforter with 5-6 long pillows, with shams that match. Fold the white comforter you have in quarter and place at end of bed over that use a fur in shades of gray throw. Add small toss pillows in a glam sparkly silver. Get very glam hanging beads and crystal lamps with silver shades. End tables should be big and mirrored.

I like the pic above with high headboard in black & white with medallion I would do a high one but but in silver with very large sunburst glass type Z Galleries has one go on line. But don't hang as high. Would add dramatic interest to bed.

I meant to say large sunburst mirror at Z.

Or instead of headboard wall paper. With a gray, black metallic one. Using the sunburst mirror over bed. Wall paper is back. And can be used so many ways. To get that romantic room. You needs the dark colors and some glam. I love doing those rooms. If you have Z Galleries by you. They are wonderful for every thing you need. You can go on line. But seeing it in person is the way to buy. Don't be afraid to buy and return . The white comforter is a little causal for look you are going for if you can return do. And do gray fun at end of bed Z carries those too.in fact could find headboard there to.

headboard possibilities as well... Blemished interior blank flat door from the hardware store, negotiate with them and you can usually get it for about $10 or less. Put a good paint base on it and then pick some colors and have fun! splash it, thin it out and let it run, do different layers, faux paint, texture, anything! They turn out like a stretched canvas art piece that is a 1 of a kind!

Marcelle, if you have decided on art in muted or neutral colors, here is a set of two nature-inspired pieces and another one that may work in your room. All can be printed in any size, on paper, canvas, acrylic or metal... Raisa https://www.houzz.com/products/tree-bark-no-1-by-ben-and-raisa-gertsberg-fine-art-print-prvw-vr~3065104
