Is this a cutting? Amazing!

It is a Branch cutting of the RCN tree. Definitely not by myself, but Dino Adeniums. Anucha has some really nice ones that are not trained (wired) for very reasonable prices ($29.).

Beautiful, spectacular Rick. You are so lucky that you can import plants into your country, and have access to a grower like Dino. Such an impressive tree grown from a cutting. We do not see arabicums for sale in our garden centres here in Australia. I do not know why. There are some home growers in Australia that grow and sell them, although most growers I've seen here are growing Obesum varieties. Did you take a photo of it barerooted to show us???

Agartta, It does appear in the photo that the wire is cutting into it, but it is not. They do such a marvelous job with wiring. I am amazed just how it is done. They are true masters at this and always willing to help out where needed.

Thanks for showing the extra photos Rick. This really is a lovely well balanced plant. I hadn't seen a cutting grown arabicum before, especially with nice fat trunks. This would be a lovely bonsai. Dino must be very skilled at this & wiring. I can see why so many lust after his plants. He takes such pride in his work.

Oooh, I never saw this post. I repotted my own black RCN's today and thought I would do a search on RCN's on this forum. Rick, we'll be wanting an update on this stunning twin trunk sometime. I sure hope it came through the winter in good shape.

Hyn, Both of the Branch grown RCN trees that I have came from Dino (Kacharat Singkorn), but Anucha had some nice ones last year. Anucha usually posts photo’s of plants and although he does not always list prices or a for sale post. They usually are for sale, just send him a message and he is fabulous about returning messages. Super nice guy.

This is the second one I received last year from Dino. They walked me through the wiring of it, as it was not done when I received it. I wanted to try my hand at it.

With this particular one it has been a slow go with it. Received it in mid summer and not really enough time to have it get established after being stripped of fine feeder roots and rejuvenating before shorter days and cooler temps. Just sitting now.

Thank you, Rick. I know a number of people who have gotten plants from Dino and been really happy with them. After I get moved this summer I may sniff around for a branch grown RCN as they are my favorite and I am especially fond of the twin trunk style. I know I can grow my own but as you say, with only half a growing period available to me each year, it's very slow going. Unless I choose to invest in a serious light/heat/humidity indoor set up to maintain winter growth. I doubt my husband would go for that but we'll see where things go. I still have hopes long term for a heated walipini greenhouse some day but that doesn't mean it'll really happen.
