Your pics help a lot. There is much more stone on the front of the house, and the roof color will play into any decisions regarding paint or stain. I am no expert on modifying stone, but trust that someone else can help you update your home. Good luck with your project.

Beautiful home, can you post a pic with an update on what you ultimately decided on? My first move would have been a white limewash to showcase the rock while also emphasizing the beautiful tile roof. If you replaced the roof for reasons unknown, then you have some flexibility for stain selection for rock. I’d move against strictly painting it but to each their own.

I’d stain the rock to lighten it …there’s a lot there. I’d look at exterior board &batton. There r some great pics of it w combos of brick, etc. maybe cover stove by porch w board / Batton. I prefer a vertical look as horizontal emphasizes the rock. It needs contract. Look at ex’s on Houzz for looks u like. Go to prof designed for a min consultation. Uve a big area to cover and don’t want to screw up and waste money w many ideas from us non professionals.
