Why are you even WORRYING about resale, when the whole house project has yet to begin? Pick the one you most love. You will be the one driving up to it every day.

Hi Jan, thank you for your comment. I should have clarified, the project has begun and the designer and contractor are needing to know whether we want to go with pre-painted Hardie (Hardie has a colour similar to the blue house and yellow trim) or whether we want to customize it. Yes, I will be the one driving up to it, but I think one should always consider re-sale when doing a project as big and as expensive as this. You never know if you'll suddenly have to move or whether an unexpected financial crisis will arise (god forbid). And I honestly keep going back and forth as to which one I like best (as does my husband). If we knew I wouldn't be asking :)

Butter !!! : ) The blue is best with a whiter, less creamy trim. You can't build or remodel for the next person. There will be detractors....or a thrilled buyer in almost ANY scenario. In any case, any color, ....there will always be paint. For the next person who does or does not love it. You can make yourself nuts with any other reasoning. Far more important, is the kitchen, the baths, EDITING to the best you can afford that is appropriate....etc.

Non of us gets a crystal ball, and it is never all that accurate anyway.: ) Plan for the worst, hope and LIVE for the best.
