This probably a useless, silly project, but is it possible to acclimate shallots to a more southern climate?
I ask because I planted a few last year on my I'itoi schedule and they grew but had not bulbed (or bloomed) by the time I pulled them when I pulled my I'itoi. If I just keep planting them on the I'itoi schedule, will they eventually come around and adjust? They divided nicely but leaving them out in the blistering, dry early summer will probably kill them. I was going to plant them out again in July when the rains come.
