When did we start matching wood furniture color to floor color? This is a first for this old lady!

You've got a lot of "dark" in here. I would put white slipcovers over the dark gray upholstered chairs and perhaps even use white linen curtains.

Thanks for the tips. So you don't believe a fashion faux paux has been committed by putting that furniture with these floors? You don't think they clash? I agree that white curtains could be good.

The floor and table look fine together.

Your wood tones should blend harmoniously, but should not necessarily match. Your furniture looks just fine with the floor. You have pretty much an endless variety of choice when it comes to window dressing, but I definitely would not try to match the upholstery. Start thinking in terms of complementary colors and pattern to add more interest and "life" to the room.

All the darker furniture with the dark wood flooring makes the space look smaller and I get a feeling of heaviness when I look at it. You can break it up by putting a white linen table cloth over the table, add some colorful artwork to the walls, and a nice floral arrangement to the tale. A mirror over your buffet would add more light and spaciousness to the room. A soft roman shade in a fabric with a white or light background would look good too. The room really just needs to be brightened up. I do like the idea of an area rug too.

I would put a light patterned or textured runner on the table and a colorful centerpiece to add brightness to the room. Also something visually large on the wall over the buffet.
