I would think you'd want more KBG anyways since PRG is not really persistent and much of your TTTF got wiped out. If all that is KBG, that is promising. Give it prime growing conditions and it will spread. It almost looks underfertilized. I'd keep it well fed and not let the turf dry out completely--at least while the temps are prime for growing.

I think it mostly KBG at least that is what someone said based on some photos. I applied dimension 19-0-6 at the beginning of April and a ton of dolomite lime as my ph was low based on a soil test last fall. Everything else looked ok on the test.

I wouldn't overseed. I would try TLC first. I've seen more patchy turf after a reno than that. Yeah, looks like KBG. I would consider Milorganite monthly in addition to what you've planned for May.

You think the bare spots will recover with TLC?

also can I use the milo in addition to the regular fert? Don't want to apply to much nitrogen. Could it cause burn?

Yes, most of the bare spots will fill in. Milorganite will not burn. I'd use it in addition to the fert/pre-m you have planned may/june. Make sure you mow regularly, keep it fertilized, water when needed... ie. everything to keep it happy. If you have a lot of traffic, all the more reason to give it more fertilizer during the growing seasons.

One of the reasons KBG is popular is that it spreads to fill in thin areas. It can take 3 years before it looks mature. It should not need more seed.

Mow it high to develop deep, drought resistant roots.

If I want to fill in the bare spots with TTTF would that be ok? I am just worried that all those spots with dead grass/bare soil won't recover.

Also I have very sandy soil so I heard you are suppose to water more frequently due to the soil not retaining the water as well. Does that sound right?

You have to get a feel for your own soil. Certainly sandy soil requires more frequent watering, but less quantity for each watering. Deep and infrequent is relative. Your soil probably won't go a week without water.
