Marie, your seedlings are breath-taking and gorgeous! I'm so grateful for all of the help you're willing to provide here. I have a few questions so that I don't make too many mistakes.

Did you grow these all from seed?

Were the seeds from Mr. Ko, or seeds from you own collection?

When did you sow these seeds, if you remember?

How many seeds did you start (sow) to end up with these ten doubles?

I'm a long-time gardener and had adenium many years ago and for some reason, I just got re-bit by the bug!

I also have a pretty big collection of crown of thorns (COT) and have watched yours on these forums, too. I remember a few years back your posting that white was the hardest color to find and I agree, it is. So I thought of you about two months ago when I was given three white cuttings!

1- No, I didn't grow these from seeds.

There is a small nursery here in Houston and the owner sow thousands of seeds to get a double. He kept them for his collection, but I sweet talked him into let me have some. He closed his eyes when he let some of them go. He said, it was hard to let go. (I told him, he was too busy to have time to care for them, I said that many times)

Yes, he got the seeds from Mr. Ko

p.s. Yes white COT is hardest color to find. I was downsize my COT collection since the older house had very small back yard, but now with 12,000 sq lot. I will slowly add COT back.

LOL ... Marie! We are going to have to put a patent on the use of your feminine wiles to woo the men you come across in garden centers. "You're too busy." [sweet talk, batting of the lashes, whip hair, giggle, and always a full on smile]! You have gardening 'boyfriends' everywhere you go! Leave some for the rest of us!! There's a shortage, you know.

Very nice. As a hybridizer myself (not of adeniums, yet) some of these could indeed be name worthy. But I don't think all of them are, IMO. Only the very best, most outstanding blooms should be considered. Especially if there is something about them that really sets them apart from other similar flowers. But that is a common opinion of hybridizers everywhere and you may certainly do what you like as there is no hard and fast rule. You do have some lovely ones there, while others are pretty common.

Womderful blooms, Marie. There is no Registry for Adeniums and as all are individual when started from seed and not through grafting, layering, tissue culture or other means are warrant of a name. Hybridizing is a individual's efforts to produce unique and original specimen.

This is the good part of having our own opinion.
