Can ANYONE Identify My New Violet?

Hi. I was at Lowes today,. and actually got there when they got in a supply of new 4in pots of violets. I got a green/white one, ....that turns out to be some new rare and highly touted variety called 'MySensation'!! I saw green blooms, and knew to grab it! Like if I saw yellow blooms.

But I didnt know it is some 'new/rare' find, and I got it for $4.30...., while online it is priced at $18 for a 4in pot, non blooming, PLUS $11 shipping, from Optimara. And I got it for $4.30:)

I also got a bi-color white with a blue edge, also from Optimara, and as you all know, Optimara no longer puts the names of the variety in the violets pots. I guess they love for the buyer to guess at it on their websites! so i went to the website it said to go to on the pot myviolet.com. and found out about my green one, BUT my white-blue one could be one of 3 I see there.

I am posting pics. of the blooms. It is white with I think they are called pansy blooms? The edge is BLUE, not purple. But these are the 3 that I saw it COULD be. I also went to the Optimara site, and couldnt find it at all. BUT found out about 'MySensation' there, what a surprise!

So...does anyone, maybe a real collector, know 'who' I have? It has the simple type leaves, with plain green backs. The 3 i have to choose from are 'Chico', that the website says is 'out of production', 'Alabama' ,which has a purple edge, and 'Dolly', that is also not in production this season, or something like that.

So...any idea the variety I have? I'd be grateful for help.

The yellow tinge is my camera, it is pure white, the edge is blue, NOT purple, that is my camera again, so i posted the most pics. i cold of the blooms.

IF you have your violets in bloom, you can go to the Optimara website and probably find out your violets name. It is www.optimara.com, then look up names of varieties. Something like that. The do have pictures of ALL their violets,

So you can possibly find yours. OR try the new site that my new violets from Optimara sent me to, it was on the labels on both of my violets today. It is 'myviolet.com'..but like i said, i just cant figure out MY bi color violet. I HATE that they stopped putting the nice little wooden labels in their violets...hell WE paid for them. Then they went to labels in the pot, then you had to go to their website and TRY to match up your blooms, with one of their violets...and here I am...stuck....I cant figure out which it is. Hope this helps you. BTW...Optimara wont reply to 'snailmail', and it is VERY iffy if they will even reply to email. I tried it a few times, and unless you are buying something....its like they dont give a damn.

My green one is on myviolet.com and the Optimara site, you can see it there, and buy it ,for $18! on the Optimara site, it is a bi-color small star, it is suppose to be able to hold the blooms open for MONTHS! And there is some story all about its development.

yeah i think i ended up on that website as well..and just couldnt figure it out..which is why i emailed them...but i hadnt heard back..so i havent gone back to try again

i'm penny pinching..so no 18 bucks for me..i just splurged on leaf cuttings...first time i've spent money on myself in over a year..lol

Well if you have a Lowes near you, i would think they are ALL getting african violets in now. For this price, it is affordable, even for me. And I am poorer than dirt right now.

MAYBE they will have a 'MySensation' in their mix. I could tell the violets arrived maybe yesterday, so they had been gone through.

BUT there it was...this little green flowering violet pushed to the side. There could have been a lot more of them, i dont know. BUT I saw green/white, and grabbed!

IF you are one of the lucky ones that can grow plants from leaves, I would be happy to send you 2 leaves of my 'Mysensation'. I cant grow violets from leaves to save my life. But if you can, let me know.

Cool. I NEVER get lucky like this, ...did you see more than 1 MySensation in the box??? Or was yours the only one? Knowing now how expensive and 'rare' it is...I am shocked that Lowes has it for such a LOW price...or has it at all! I am going to another Lowes today, to see IF I can get lucky again!!!

'Heather' Do you have the ''MySensation' one to? So you didnt know the name of your little green/white violet, and your other one to?

I thought you didnt have it, and wanted it. Thats why I offered the leaves to you. The site that sells it, is $18 for a 4in pot. AND another $11 to ship it! So...$29 for this little prize!!!

Guess i can go on EBay and try to get as much as possible for a few leaves:) It is still hard to get, and 'rare', according to the website that sells it....it is in slow production and is suppose to be released on St.Patricks day. But it was developed in 2015....I think, the way the site was talking about it, more odd ones are to come, and this one is only being sold VERY small amounts...thats why i asked if 'Julie He' saw more than 1 in the fresh box.

I still dont know what my white with blue border is, my post is turning out to be a MySensation 'lucky finders' club! Hopefully someone will know my other ones name.

I looked on the Optimara site for the violets currently in production. Chico is the only one I found that resembles yours. This is a photo from the Optimara site.

no worries..i'm kinda jealous of your selection..mine only had maybe 8...and they were solid colors..but i of course needed a solid purple...and loved the pink color..I dont know why but i thought we would have more AV's available around here..I'm disappointed that we rarely have them..darn small state

I think what has me stumped were the leaves..i didnt realize there were so many leaf variations

like i said i'm penny pinching..so i cant afford shipping etc..i splurged on the leaves i bought two weeks ago..and still dealing with the guilt of it..i dont have a 9 to 5 job where i get paid weekly unfortunately

I only saw one in the box.

If that was a yellow variety with a blue or violet edges, I doubt it's from Optimara but rather might be Ma's Ching Dynasty. You can check the photos on google.
