when they are in a dry environnment, Sans. developp dry tips, this is normal.

I think you should have sticked to your 4 cups a week rythm.

If you want to ensure that you don't overwater them, just wait one hour after watering and empty the white pot of any excess water.

Your soil may also be an issue, maybe it's to compact and doesn't drain effectively water after each watering, Sans. don't like having wet leaf bases. You can try to lighten it by grating it with a kitchen fork or something similar on a about an inch on the surface of the pot.

Hi. Some items below:

1) Your substrate needs to contain more than soil. Treat it like a cactus by putting it in a mix of half pumice/perlite and half potting soil. This way, the water drains. Also, ensure the drained water in the saucer is disposed of as standing in water will simply return the hydration back to the soil.

2) Light watering or not overwatering is NOT the amount of water but the frequency. So water deeply until the fluid drains out of the bottom, then chuck away the drained water in the saucer. Then wait for a while before watering again. This way, the entire pot is evenly moist, not just the top part.

I live in Manila, where it is always around 33C in the daytime. Outdoors I water twice a week, indoors just once.

Can' tell for sure but looks to be planted too deep. Agree with soil condition. I use poultry grit (crushed granite). Mixed 50/50 or some times almost all grit. Depends on your watering.
