B&W Check. Are there similar materials that are less slippery when wet

I love the classic black and white checkerboard pattern for the vestibule. Yours is marble, but I would think marble would get very slippery when wet (as it might in a house entrance). Is there another stone (or perhaps treatment of marble) that would have a similar B&W checkerboard look, but have less of a tendency to be slippery?

Hi there, because of the grout lines this doesn't get slippery (its a 2"x2" tile). You could probably find a similar pattern in ceramic but might have to lay it tile by tile (vs sheets).
