Sprinklers are the least efficient method of watering planted beds - good for lawns; not great for trees, shrubs or perennials. If these are newly planted then you will need to water them throughout the summer months this year and very likely next. After that, they should subsist on natural rainfall except for any very dry or drought periods.

Since this is more or less a temporary situation, I'd skip installing permanent irrigation in those areas and opt for a soaker hose or a temporary drip system.

Just to give you some perspective, I live in a recurring summer drought area - we receive little to no rain from mid June/early July until the end of September...sometimes well into October. Very few gardens have irrigation systems other than lawn sprinklers.....and not too many of those. It's just not very necessary for any established plants to require frequent watering. In SoCal or other parts of the southwest maybe.......for most of the rest of the country with average and pretty regular precipitation, not so much.
