Do you just want the flower pods stripped off of plants? I could send you some by mail. I know I have Carnival Black Olive, Carnival Silver Streak, and H. Americana 'Dale's Strain' that all have blooms. I know the H. Americana 'Dale's Strain' comes pretty true from seed. Not sure about the other two.

It doesn't matter how you send them. I'll just be happy that you did. I want to fill in my Hosta Garden next spring. I saw pictures of them here and this will give me another gardening project. Can I start them now or wait to winter sow?

I had a Carnival Blackberry produce seeds by the hundreds last year. Teeny tiny blackberry babies growing up everywhere! I was thrilled!

Until I discovered they are NOT TRUE from seed. Actually, the seedlings are butt-ugly. I have been pulling them up by the handfuls. :(

Littlebug, Maybe if you let them grow a little they may look better as they get older. Move the seedlings to another spot to see what they do. Then you may have the opportunity to cull the ugly and keep the new.

I've had a lot of a green variety I've had for 6-7 years that self seed. They start out as solid green but once they get a bit bigger they often develop some colorful veining. I typically pot them up until they get 3-4 sets of leaves and then evaluate them. I haven't thrown any out - typically put the more homely ones in the backyard to try to survive the dogs :)

Yes, I tried, Cathy. I let them grow 3 months, hoping they would grow out of their gangly-ness. Nope. Uuuuuuug-ly.
