"I personally love the style, the feel, the look, everything about this runner".... I think there's your answer! It's tucked away behind the island where you can enjoy it and unless you are thinking of some very traditional fabrics, I would think you could find many things to coordinate with it, even some prints, and you can pull almost any color from it. If you have some fabrics in mind, maybe post them here for opinions on how well they complement the rug.

Hahaha you're both so right about the dog! I asked a friend what she thought, and she just told me about the scale rule. I have never heard of this, so I need to do some research because I need visuals to understand. Do either of you have any suggestions for what types of prints I could use elsewhere?

I cannot tell what your decor aesthetic is from the pictures, but you can use almost anything with navy, cream, taupe, red, light blue or dark brown. Do you have a fabric store with a large selection of upholstery or home decor fabrics? Take the rug with you and ask for help.

I like the rug a lot. You could use a stripe and a very small print to complement it--to give you the different "scale".

Yes. I like the design and the colours go great with the wood tones that you have in the room.. The nice thing about having so many colours to choose from is that one of them will always be trendy and so you can change your towels, dishclothes, mugs, whatever else at will. They can go with the rug and be on trend.

I'm not sure what your friend means by scale unless she is talking about the scale of patterns. Eg, the pattern of your rug and the polka-dot that fun2bhere posted are of two different sizes or scale and so they work.

You don't want a pattern the same size or scale as the pattern of your rug to be the same size as say, in your window treatments. You want something smaller or bigger.

The pillow that fun2bhere posted is too similar in scale with the rug but a narrower stripe would work well on your window bench.

You could do the polka dots or a small print on your chair pads and then a plain or textured or tone-on-tone roman shades

I really like it & think it won't be hard to find other fabrics to go with it! I love the "kicky dot" that's posted, but then I always love polka dots!!
