Functionally, it could work; aesthetically it will depend on the size of the sconce and your headboard. I found a few pics of sconces in tight spaces. You also might consider having them above your headboard if that would work.

I can find a 5" sconce base, then that leaves 5" between window & 5" between bed. It isn't much... Not sure what will look better at that point. Don't like the over the headboard look...

you can easily find 5" base as it's standard..but look at the studs-electrical boxes should sit on them, right?..See whether you can have a sconce within such narrow parameters at all..maybe you can, I don't remember the standard space between studs..

if you can-and really want it-I'd choose something long, vertical

(should sit on the stud-the box, not the sconce..and per code..in CA at least...as far as I remember..the box shouldn't sit on the corner one. I might be wrong since I start to forget the technical details..but check with your builder first of all)

It is not something we REALLY wanted, but something we thought would look nice. Unfortunately, being such a tight space is not helping, and now we feel we are trying to hard to make it work.

i had this idea in kids' bathroom..had sconces already..tried too hard until I understood the space just doesn't allow for it..looked squished and wrong..

had to redo everything. light, mirror, color concept..and I REALLY wanted these sconces (still have them..can't part with them. they're packed..))

so if you feel you try too hard..just don't?

The upside: with table lamps, you can have art above your nightstands))
