Hi Larry--see? We're never to old to learn new tricks. I'm not using my tablet nowadays, but when I did, I bought a stand-alone keyboard for it. You could ask your granddaughter if you have the kind that you could hook up a keyboard to. . .

I use a keyboard app on my Nexus tablet, called Hacker's keyboard. In landscape mode it looks like any physical keyboard, which is easier for me. I couldn't get it for Kindle Fire, because it's a different operating system. It even has the option of voice to text, but we know that didn't work well for me.

Don't feel bad, Amy, Tim uses voice to text a lot at work (cause he cannot text while driving) and it doesn't work out well AT ALL sometimes. Last week he sent a voice-to-text thing to one of his lieutenants while trying to make sure all the plans were in place for a new rookie cop's graduation from the police academy, and somehow some perfectly decent words got changed to vulgar words that completely obscured what he was trying to say.

His lieutenant said when he read the message he laughed until he almost cried, and then he sent Tim a text that said "what is it you're trying to say?". lol lol lol

Tim sent me a screen shot of their exchange and I laughed until it hurt....didn't make me cry though. At least I'm not the only person who gets messages from Tim that make no sense whatsoever, and so far, we can blame them all on voice-to-text.

Thanks to all of you. Landscape does seem to work better, but I will never master touch screen.
