Big Daddy looking fine in the rain

This is a leap year for Big Daddy. A few years ago he was doing well, then a huge set back. Root competition in a bad location. Potted up what was left and found a new spot. It has taken a few years but he has never looked better. So if you have one that had regressed, don't give up hope - find a new location!

Oddly enough these photos were taken moments apart on my tablet in the rain so I guess the different angle is responsible for the different colours because it is the same hosta.

That's a beauty, Barb!! Some hostas seem to capture the rain drops better than others. I just went out into the back yard now when there was a little break in the rain and spotted Blue Whirls looking mighty fine!

Wow! Big Daddy is a great hosta. I have found, also, that relocating a plant makes a big difference.

Holy cow! I don't dare plant anything that big, much as I love them - we have way too much wind.

Annnn, we get a lot of wind in our yard but this big guy is under the canopy of a sycamore tree and close to the fence around the yard. My tall spikes in pots take a hit when it is windy but hostas, close to the ground manage quite well.

Nice. I love blue hostas.

I'm not sure that is big daddy. Leaves aren't seer suckered or round enough.

Here's mine.
been pouring here all day (all spring for that matter). Hostas always look their best in the rain...

When you said "here's mine" did you mean your posted pic is of Big Daddy? I just checked the hosta library and you may be right. Big Daddy had some cupped leaves and more corrugation than mine appears to have. But then I just checked the measurements of the leaves and the vein pairs and they more closely match Big Daddy.
