Is there any part of it below ground? I would be concerned all the weight grows to one side and the whole thing tips over.

Yes tim45z10, there are four 12 inch pvc posts that go into the ground. If you look really really close you can seem them, as they are not painted brown, so you see a bit of the white above the ground. The PVC is 3/4 inch.

If you have scrap pipe and connectors, it's a good way to use them up, but all the connectors get pricey. I use wire fencing bent into a tall cylinder. Tomato cages work really well for Dahlias.
