Bathroom lighting question.

Our guest bathroom will be 6'4" x 7'8". When you walk into the room you face the tub, with the 24" vanity and stool on the right. We thought we'd put a can light over the tub. The exhaust fan is just in front of the tub. My question is where else should we put lights. I figured a bar light over the mirror over the sink, but is that enough? Do we need another light in the middle of the room? The room's not that big and I'd hate to have too many objects in the ceiling. Thoughts?

IMHO, that's not enough light. I'd put a center can or fixture.

My guest bath is 5x10' and I have a three-light fixture over the vanity with 75W bulbs. That is enough light for showering, using the mirror, and cleaning the bathroom. Oh, and reading on the can!

My guest bath is about the same size as mayflowers'. My vanity is about 60" and I have a 5-light fixture over the mirror with 40W (60W equivalent) bulbs and it's gloriously light enough for everything. That's my only light in the room. It helps that I have a high, south-facing window in the tub alcove so no need to turn on the light for routine business during the day.

Thank you! We decided to go ahead and put in one more can light. If i's too much light we can lower the wattage. Thanks for the help!
