I think that is wonderful, Peter. This type of action would not be taken if they did not care about individuals such as yourself. Letting people know of the disappointing results will give them the tools to strive for better results and this will follow through to the prospective buyers.

You never know what you will get when you grow from seed one seed pod may make over a hundred seeds and only Five will be what you are looking for another pod may make 30 seeds and 20 will be what you like I never plant less than 50 seeds of any one kind if I'm looking to get a plant that I like if a seed pod makes less than 50 seeds I plant all of them .

I with you on that Rodger but when you plant 285 seeds you would expect a different colour some were along the line even if its not a double or triple. I have grown seeds from other suppliers the success rate is alot higher some suppliers do hide behind that old table of success rate but as stated in another thread over time the hit rate is getting better and the odds of getting a plant true to the parent plant is getting better thats why i have asked this supplier whats going on .

As a person who sells plants, I can say that feedback is important! I rather think your importer would want to know if product he or she passed on wasn't as advertised. It makes them look bad too, even if they got the seed elsewhere.

Peter you are right if you planted 285 that were all single pink I would be a little hot to probably would not buy from that supplier again but if you order 285 single pink that would be grate rate I have planted 100 single white with pink edges and got a 90% on colors but still got a few solid white if this supplier is willing to replace the seeds that's a good deal just showed there may have been a mistake some place hope you have better luck on these seeds

All the seeds were doubles and triples i only emailed him to let him know the seeds were all single pink and to check his supplier was doing the write thing because a person i buy older DR flowering plants off said she had the same prob years ago with him and she buys 1000s of seeds so now she imports seed i did not ask for a refund or replacement seeds the farmer has offered to replace them to keep my business the only thing i can do with them is use them as root stock

Rachel it sounds like it is very common you live and learn i do the same wait till they flower before i sell them mainly because i want to see if it is a new flower to add to my collection
