Broadleaf winter annual weed identification

This weed was all over a portion of my yard. Its starts green then fades to yellow and now (in May) appears to be dormant. It has minuscule white flowers and hard purplish seeds along the stem. Someone suggested burweed but there are no spines of any sort. Any ideas?
