Japanese Maple Higasayama stressed

last modified: 9 years ago

Hi, my Japanese Maple Acer palmatum 'Higasayama' became stressed after we hit 90 degrees for 2 days in a row. Many leaves became brown and are falling off the tree. We've had a wet spring but the soil seemed to mostly dry out after the heatwave. The tree was planted last spring. It gets some morning and afternoon sun but also gets some shade by larger trees around it. The tree seemed stressed last summer too. Should I be worried?

Any help is greatly appreciated
