It's a runt, like this tiny little guy with a twin ... Very slow grower:

These are his sibling surrounding him. Just look at the size difference. I, too, wonder whether it will survive.

Can a runt flowers or it too weak to even survive.

I have one that is an adult now. Still small, and has aborted flowers once last past winter (blackened, and fell off).

She's about to bloom again. The plant itself is 1/4 or smaller the size of others planted at same time. She's still around the width of a nickel @ almost 2 years. She'll be two on July 3rd.

I think it will bloom this time. I have about 60 starting to bloom, and will be most plant's first bloom. I cannot wait.

Shang, they do survive. They are just slow growers. Some people toss them. To others, they are very special. I can't bear to part with any plant before seeing its blooms. So, I keep all my seedlings unless they outright die. Ours are the same age ... Let's update from time to time.

Jerry, how exciting! I also am seeing / awaiting 1st blooms from last year's plantings. So far all red or pink singles, each with its own personality. Those first seeds were from either mixed seed batches or same seed pods, as I learned when & how to germinate and how to care for these. Next year will be a real show with KO, Rinoa, and Arabicum yearlings blooming. This one bloomed on Saturday ... It's a fuscia (almost red) pink:
