all of that and what about the watering?

I water every morning. I live in sw florida. Orchid faces west. Screened in Liani.

It looks pretty good to me. I'd likely water more when over 90F.

west is the hottest sun. I agree with above. It would be better to avoid the afternoon sun if possible or most of the summer in the west sun I'd water twice a day. Unless it rained...The roots look somewhat dry. It looks like it has missed some waterings. The plant will love you if you got a product called Maxi-crop. It is a root stimulator. It is Norwegian seaweed juice. It has naturally occurring chemicals that the roots love. A big difference.

Also it needs fertilizer...

I think just watering will not do the trick, This plant is about to go into shock. It needs water in the worst possible way. If you look at the leaves they are closed shut, as the plant is trying to keep transpiration and water loss at a minimum because its not getting enough water. If it was my plant, I would soak it in a bucket of water 2-3 times per day at least 15 minutes each time and keep the plant in the shade until you see the leaves open up. Mounting the plant into a wooden basket will help. You can the soak plant and basket and the wet basket will continue to provide moisture for the roots until it dries, usually an hour or more depending on conditions. This type of vanda is called "strap leaved" as the leaves are normally open at about a 60 degree angle and when they close it is a dire warning sign.
