Here's the picture of my Adenium named Plongchompoo and he even spelled it incorrectly and I found one named a little different on the internet and it's from out of the country, but has the same exact picture.....go figure!

Jeannie, did you purchased a grafted plants or seeds? Grafted plants normally bloom very close to the flower advertising. Seeds on the other hand is hit and missed. Most revert back to their wild colors (pink or white). If you live close to Marie Tran ask her for some scions and graft them to you pink or white rootstock.

Jeannie stick with the dealers which have been disused on this forum.This forum is a powerful tool to work for you we have all had bad encounters with bad dealers so we post it on this forum we have even pulled growers into line when there standards start to slip so go through the threads have a look there is certain farmers grow better seed for say DHA or grafted plants so have a look so you dont get burnt again i know how it feelsi had approx 300 pink seeds sold to me shang had bad grafts sent to him. This forum is a invaluable guide for every one that can read.

I have purchased from ben (thankfully no creepy crawlies) and figure if an adenium doesn't bloom true, at least i will have good stock on which to graft the good stuff. In years past, he has offered 50 little trees of the same name and has numerous varieties, which he has traditionally alphabetized. He probably bought a lot of the seed, planted and nurtured them and simply assumed it/they would bloom true to its name. Unfortunately, only about 5 or 6 percent - yes that's five or six seeds out of 100 planted - will bloom close to the parent plant. The others will be pink. Little solace, I know ...

How many did you purchase from him?

Well most of the Adeniums purchased from this Ebay seller.....were pink :( Even the Blue Boy was PINK! I noticed he no longer sells different colored ones and still offers only the pink one at times (with some negative remarks). How do people get away with this on Ebay? SO Sad.......

Dain, I won several of his auctions (18 total) and purchased way too many. I would not of done that if I knew they could turn into pinks (that was before I found info about it through this forum). He did not disclose that any where on his auctions.

I wish I would of known before hand or the seller would of explained about seeds may not come out that color. So Sad! He should stick to selling his antique coins (which he's getting negative feedback on some of those auctions/sales). I know now to only order/purchase from reliable sellers/companies thanks to this forum....Thanks, Jeannie :)

I purchased seeds on Ebay years ago and didn't know about the pink genetic percentages until later on. I was pretty aggravated. Now I know. I wouldn't trust any seller now that doesn't disclose that you have a slim chance of it being something other than pink.

I emailed that seller that fooled me (he's still selling seeds under exotic pictures/colors) and let him have an ear full. I told him he should not advertise the way he did. It should state "parent plants in picture. Most seeds will be pink". They are just scamming or just completely lacking in knowledge of Adenium. It's so dumb.

if you're near Houston, there is a FANTASTIC Adenium nursery here. It's called Nature Growers. Every graft I've purchased from him has bloomed true to name. He has thousands. It's worth a trip!

I'm between Houston and Galveston. I would love to go check out that nursery sometime :) I already had mapped the location from when you and printmaster had mentioned it. I have purchased several grafted plants that I had ordered through Adenium Rose and also from Rinoa. They are blooming beautifully :)

I am getting ready for a plant sale (in my driveway) in the next few weeks....I have to make room for some of these Adenium seedlings I have now, and I also started growing Plumerias and Amaryllis from seeds.

Lonnie, it would be nice to have a meet up. Marie lives over here too. I haven't seen her on in a while. She has a great collection. Have you seen hers?

I first met Marie on this forum several years ago. She sends me pictures of her collection, and new house. I'm not sure why she hasn't posted here in a while. She did mention that she is now taking care of her elderly mother.

I haven't met Marie in person, but we have email conversations frequently.

Marie is who told me about Nature Growers several years ago.

Maybe we can plan for a get-together one weekend, and very one finally meet.

Lonnie, I just spoke with her. She's doing ok. She has some carpal tunnel issues so can't type.

I missed a lot of pics from fresh blooms since I was busy doing my plant sale, but I did snap a pic of the bloom that was suppose to be yellow numchok.....and it's not the typical pink....lots of white in the center and a reddish pink....I think I will keep this one, at least for now!
