Pick out Counter top then select cabinet color and update hardware. Remnants are easily accessible for small jobs and very affordable at your local granite supply company. Possibly something in the trash or dumpster at the site that was wrong size and unable to use and it would only cost you a small fraction of the normal cost. From there you can pick out the paint colors, wall-coverings and accessories to complete the look.

Is your vanity top marble? It does not look bad, I think....hard to tell from the pictures. Maybe paint or stain the vanity and the countertop will be okay?

Thank you all for your suggestions so far, I totally agree with a big mirror! Here are some more pictures of the sink, floor tile and shower. Also, the bedroom was painted an off white with white bedding, and is kind of bare. I love at the beach so mostly light colors throughout the house. Thank you!!

Well you could do something like the below, where the vanity and framed mirror are the same color. Maybe your color could be white, blue or espresso as shown.

Drapery and rod to the ceiling for your shower stall will soften and add height. Clear liner as well to protect drapery shower curtain. Did you mean to say in your previous comment you live at the beach? Do you want a monochromatic color scheme or want to incorporate color? What are your favorite colors or should I ask what colors do you shy away from? What is the long term or short term plan for your home? Neutral materials to work with to update. What about tile behind your vanity? Are you open to wallpaper as great texture impact to wow a space like this.

Priority 1: Get rid of those lousy can lights. There is no worse light for personal grooming that those. Replace them with 3 sconces at face level.

I think the yellow on the walls is the reason you dislike the counter, it is not a good shade. I can see why someone would do that, but the counter with SailCloth, will look totally different.. Than, in your bedroom, Journey's End on the ceiling, Cottage White on the walls and trim in Sail Cloth or Rye Bread or Journey's End...NEVER PAINT cabinetry white..you will be miserable.I can almost say that about wood trim too, so Rye Bread would be nice wood trim color in your bath/and bedroom if you choose.... Blue Ceilings are the BEST! So cheerful, (IF you like blue tones of course). There is a paint color called Sea Glass, which may be in a green blue tone-ish that you could prefer rather than the blue..Of course, if you search online for SeaGlass color paint, a huge variety of beachy toned rooms/houses can come up leading you down the rabbit hole of too many choices, but what fun!
