Haha! Too cute!

I have one that likes to wallow in the dirt when it's hot. She made herself a nest in one bed and I had a heck of a time convincing her it was not allowed. She's old now and won't step up into a bed...unless there's a rabbit in it.

Amy, he loves the mud too! If I leave a sprinkler on it becomes a mud hole far too quickly.. But a rabbit does absolutely nothing for him.. (Insert eye roll here)

Dawn, we still have 3 "guard dogs". Only one will actually chase something. Well not including the chicken murderer.. of course he chases chickens, but will gladly snooze next to a bunny or a squirrel.. bulldogs are ridiculous..

That explains it, mine is a beagle. She will nearly get heat stroke sniffing for critters. But she's slow and doesn't see well any more, so she just sticks her nose into everything. She's the last of the squirrel chasers, we used to have 4. She doesn't even care about squirrels any more, she knows she's too slow to catch them.

Hahahahah thanks for posting this! Totally cracked me up. My bulldog likes to play in mud/puddles too. I guess it's a good thing my raised beds are too small for her to lay in? Haha

Bulldogs may be ridiculous, but also are so cute and adorable.

Our dogs, none of which are bulldogs, are fenced out of our garden because they like to dig a bit too much.

I let the oldest one, Jet, come into the garden with me occasionally but he has learned he cannot dig in there so he rarely even wants to come in. He'll walk in, look around, and walk out, as if to tell me "there's nothing for me to do in here since you won't let me dig". He used to stay out there with me all day long when he was much younger, but he'd dig holes in pathways (or raised beds if I wasn't paying attention to him and telling him "No!) and move around every couple of hours, so I always was at risk of stepping into a new and unexpected hole and twisting an ankle. Nowadays he considers himself semi-retired from chasing wild things and playing hard and prefers to snooze on his blanket on the sofa indoors in air-conditioned comfort while I'm outdoors sweating in the heat. In that sense, he's the smart one.
