Experience with these climatis

I want to pair a light pink group 3 on a tripod with my ville de Lyon. I'm thinking about hagley hybrid, pink fantasy, maybe comtesse de bouchard. This side of the tripod is more shaded by the house than the side VDL is on. I have read many posts about CDB being such a profuse bloomer, my hesitation is the flowers shape is very similar to VDL. Any thoughts or recommendations for something else that you have paired with VDL.

How tall is the tripod? CDB is a bigger grower than the other two. I have Hagley Hybrid in a shaded location because it faded badly in full sun. You can hard prune it just like VDL and the shape of the blooms is different and the color would be nice together. Pink Fantasy is a little more peachy colored or at least it was here and I would not plant it with VDL personally. (former floral designer, anal about colors/textures)

My tripod is 8-8 1/2 ft. I have been leaning more towards HH. Good to know PF is peachy, your right that one is out I think the flowers would clash.

Any experience with Margaret Hunt? That's another one that caught my eye. Hard to tell from photos the color undertones.

No experience with Ms Hunt. Princess Kate would look great w VDL or Rouge Cardinal. Hagley Hybrid is kinda boring IMHO.....

I LOVE princess Kate and have been drooling over her but COW has it listed as zone 7 and up, silver star says maybe zone 5. I really don't know a lot about texasis group to know how well the would do in my zone 4.

Sorry, forgot to look at your zone.

I love cdb and think it would work great ! I also have Margaret hunt . It's very pretty . I wish my new ville de Lyon was blooming because I would take one over to compare for you!

These are all as the sun was going down . It has more of a lilac grey color during the day. I'll try pics tomorrow. I love it in the evening, it really glows

I did find this picture googling with VDL, CDB, HH, and the dark purple is rouge cardinal.

Just so you are warned, my CDB is more mauve and not very pink at all. I have seen several that are mauve. I wanted that lovely pink. My Hagley is a true pale pink. Also my R C is more red, less purple than the one that is showing on my computer in this posting.

My photos are of Margaret hunt . I grow cdb but it's new to this garden . I had it in pa and it was mauve pink which I love .

I bought Margaret from joy creek nursery as well as princess Kate and prince Charles . They are growing beautiful and I really recommend this vendor :)

Lilyfinch, your M. Hunt is lovely! I ordered MH from Silver Star Vinery in the late spring - it hasn't bloomed yet, but it is growing so quickly. Princess Kate arrived a few weeks ago and it isn't doing as well, I think bugs got to it. I dug it up and put it in a pot for recovery. We'll see what happens.

That's funny because I keep accidentally tearing the stems of princess Kate! She's in a weedy area and I thought I was being careful but twice now I've ripped the stems right off . I don't know if I'll see her bloom this year! Hope she makes a good recovery for you in a pot .

My Rouge Cardinal is more red than that photo shows too.
