I was going to guess Rhapsody in Blue. There aren't that many roses that can attain the shade of purple in your pics.

I looked up Stormy Weather on HMF, and the large flowered climber of that name has flowers that match the photos you posted. I think the identity the salesman provided was likely correct.

Thanks, Sam. Stormy Weather is climber. I will keep my rose growing to look at how high it can reach.

I would say it's RHAPSODY IN BLUE. Your rose definitely looks more like RIB, which is basically purple with white streaks. STORMY WEATHER is more of a blend of purples and deep pinks, and even some red, also with the white streaks. It's not a real tall climber either so you could wait forever for it to do so! Mine has never gotten over 6ft. RIB isn't very tall. Mine has only reached about 4ft.

Many HMF photos of Stormy Weather have color that ranges from a purplish-pink to a darker true purple. The flower forms are so similar. It could be either, and waiting to see the habit would be the surest way to tell.
