It's Papalo. Looking at the picture last night, I didn't remenber the leaves being the texture of papalo. They are, and the smell is distinct. There will be cilantro flavoring this summer.

I remember seeing papalo at the Norman Master Garden. Pretty and smells yummy!

It tastes a lot like cilantro, but it grows in heat, when cilantro goes to seed. It gets 3 or 4 feet tall. The leaves have a waxy texture and are very high in the essential oil.

I'm glad you figured it out. I've grown papalo and culantro both as hot-weather cilantro substitutes. The culantro survived one winter and came back the next year, so it might be able to perennialize here, except very wet years or very dry years might kill it.

I was trying to get culantro this year, but the sources I was looking at were sold out. Didn't want to pay shipping on one thing. Yeah, you know I couldn't buy just one thing.
