I have similar problem with typhoon weather here in Philippines. I am planning on moving all plants to the porch. The thing is they will get very little light for about three months.

Shang, I'm right with you. We've had so much rain again this week I had to bring everything in. All of my larger plants I de potted intentionally to let them dry out. Found a little rot to cut out of roots of one but caught it early. Gah. Went from an awful drought last year to never ending rain. Getting tired of it to be sure. You have my sympathies.

Same problem here, Bob. Indoors I have lighted plant stands but they aren't set up to produce enough lumens for adeniums and it's already too warm in the art studio to put up a lot more lights when I'm already packing to move.

Oh Shang. I know that is work you were not planning. So sorry! But those little guys do look really healthy!

I'm not decided yet but I'm looking at one of these low lying Outsunny portable greenhouse kits. Where my adeniums are located outside they don't get exposed to much wind but the rain is awful. While not very high quality, they are cheap in price so I may try one. I can easily reinforce joints and anchor the whole thing down. Anyone here used one of these? I'm looking at the 9 foot by 3 by 3 as the reviews suggest the plastic is more tear resistant.

Yep, those are them. I ordered one today but cheaper than either of those. With shipping it ran $44. It may turn out to be a cheap piece of crap but all I need is for it to keep the rain off for a couple of months while I'm between houses trying to relocate. Then we can build a proper, real green house later. I'll anchor this one really well and let anyone who cares know how it works out.

It needs the frame and height, and then a means to anchor it against wind. I think this'll do fine though I expect to need to reinforce the joints, too.

It finally got sunny here too! Whoo! I've been outside mowing grass like a fiend. I have to admit, my adeniums look freaking happy. All my moving them around seemed to be worth the effort. Almost /all/ of my imported grafted plants have flower buds on them now! I am excited! How are your poor babies doing, Shang? The ones that got washed out of their pots?

shang I am glad that the rain has settled down that way your babies will be okay this gives you enough time to do anything you have to do so that the next time it will be okay it's still raining here in Tampa but I only have two adenium so they're under two of my personal umbrellas

Thanks Hyn and Libby for asking. They all doing great now. Luckily, Adenium doesn't mind being up rooted. Some of them seemed to be fatten up a bit after the wash up. I have to test a few to see if this is true. I will up roots them every week to see if they grow faster than the one that I left alone.

It tends generally to be true of gesneriads that if you repot or otherwise disturb seedlings regularly, it HUGELY speeds up growth in the young plants. This isn't true however of some species. With that well documented among gesneriads I think it is worth trying with adeniums to see the comparison.
