Above all you need to be sure that you can knock down the wall and that it is not supporting. This is the first question that needs to be answered before we can advise you further.

With a sledge hammer.

Load bearing or non-load bearing? ... that is the question ...

If it is non-load bearing and you are CERTAIN of that, then I would start by pulling off all the drywall so that you can see exactly what is in the wall (probably all kinds of unpleasant surprizes like electrical wires, duct work, plumbing, drain venting ...)

The tools that would probably serve you best are a hammer, a crowbar, and a recip saw.

You can determine if it's load bearing if the joists above run perpendicular to it. If yes, then load bearing. If parallel then not.

You can still remove a load bearing wall, you need to install an appropriately sized beam to carry the load. In this case consult engineer, architect or even local building inspector can advise. Hire it out if in doubt.
