Craftsman garage door wall control LED not lit

Hello,
I have a Craftsman garage door opener ca. 2003 that is working fine except the LED on the wall control is not lit. The control works fine, i.e. it activates the door when the button is pressed. So it's just a cosmetic issue but I'd still like to get the LED working; any ideas?

If your wall control is just a 'door bell' type switch with an LED in it, try swapping the two wires. My unit had wires marked '1' and '2' and went to the switch marked '1' and '2'. Putting wire '1' to switch '2' and wire '2' to switch '1' and LED now working. The wires had been mislabeled since day 1.
