Hi, anyone knows what species of pepper this might be? I planted Chocolate Habanero seeds and got this

A Capsicum annuum for certain, so not even the same species. What was the source for those seeds? There are lots of varieties that looks just like what you have unfortunately, but the fact they grow upward may narrow it down a bit. I can't identify it further myself. I have similar problems with a couple of peppers I'm growing, not knowing what to precisely call them, but they still taste good and burn, so enjoy! :)

Thank you for your kind help! I bought few Chocolate Habaneros on local market and planted their seeds. It was my first try at planting peppers so I am happy with the results even if they are not expected species :D

So it's a seed you saved from a pepper? Is there any way there could have been a seed mix-up afterwards? It's just that even for (assumed) hybrid seeds from a cross-pollinated pepper, this is so far removed from the original pod and has the hallmarks of a full-blooded C.annuum. I did get one very different pepper from a seed I had saved last year, but it stayed the same species at least. :)

Anyway, you have a healthy and producing plant, it's hard to complain!

Yeah, it's saved from a pepper. And no, mix-up of seeds is impossible cause I saved seeds from only one single pepper. I did some research and it looks much like Thai Bird's Eye. They both grow upwards and leaves seem very similar

Yah, I was thinking it was a Thai variety, but I can't pin it down to a specific variety.

Yeah, it does look like a Thai of some sort. My first pepper plant in 2015, which got my interest started, was not precisely identified, but I figured is probably was a Thai Bird's Eye too. It looked much like yours, but the pods were a bit smaller IIRC.

I had a natural cross between a Ghost pepper and a Thai chile in my garden a few years back. When I grew the seed out, the result was an upright chile with a little "movement" in the body of the pod, and a slight increase in size. So, if your Hab was cross pollinated by a Thai, the upright pod-set would be expected.

So, this is different variety I got from the same batch of seeds. Could this be Habanero?
