Dina. I was thinking that some time when you are out shopping, if you should see something like this that is affordable, it might look really beautiful on your nice clean counter top. ;-). Or just a small green plant. Something soft for the kitchen.

The foyer light is typically smaller than the dining room light because it's in a smaller space. When you have such an open floor plan like yours, you have to visualize that the space by the front floor is your foyer, not the entire space including the living room. Does that make sense.

The oil rubbed bronz is 18" diameter and the one I posted last is 20" diameter. I thought you changed your mind and were going with the one from Houzz that is 20".

Dina. Let's slow down a little. The 18" sphere you posted looks like the spheres are very thin and not substantial enough. Whereas the the on I posted from Houzz is 20" and looks more substantial and the color is better I think from the picture. But it's your decision, and I wouldn't put something up because you are in a hurry.

We crossed posts. So go ahead and put yours up and live with it for a few days. But I do think the sphere will look good style wise. Take a picture from far back so I can see them together.

I do really like the chandelier though. I hope you do too.

we will install the sphere now and see how they look....if we do not like it we can always return it.

I found this chandelier that would work in your foyer if you don't wind up liking the sphere. It's a smaller version of your DR chandelier but it's a little expensive.

Yes. But if you are concerned about size, a pendant may be too small. Let me see if I can find some examples that might work.

Dina. Look at this cutie pie. It's 13"x16" so not as small as many pendants, its black, and a decent price. What do you think?

Dina. Did you hang the sphere? The one from HD is ok but do you have dimension for it. It's very different from the chandelier.

Dina. Got up this morning and took another look at the foyer light you picked from Home Depot. I like it and if the size works, I think it will be ok.

Both rugs are too small. More substantial end tables/chests are needed in the living room. More substantial lamps would help. Fuller LINED drapes are needed.

The sofa colour is a very difficult one to work with.

seajaygern...we did not like it after all so I returned it.....I m going to slow down ....I'm feeling so tired....do you really like the one I bought for dining room...I'm having a second thought about it...therefore I want to take my time and think.

Dina. That's what I think you should do. Don't get overwhelmed. They're just lights. ;-). I like the chandelier in the DR because it compliments your furniture there. But you have to live with it so it's your decision that matters. Please tell me what is it about that fixture that is giving you second thoughts and we can try to work through it.

Look at build.com site and overstock.com. Build.com have thousands of chandeliers to search thru, overstock has hundreds, that way you can take your time. If you have photoshop you can play around put the chandeliers in your pictures to get an idea what they will look like.

The undercounted lights made a big difference in the kitchen.

Less is more when it comes to kitchen counters. Keep it clear and open working space. No dust catchers needed.

The simple open chandelier over your dining table looks great! You can change up the look with mini shades that clip to the light bulbs.

A practical thought on the suggested bucket pendant and any other inverted lighting. They hold dust and dead moths and then they are a pain to clean.

Dina. It may just be the photo angle, but are the chandelier arms evenly spaced out. They don't look even in the pic. I'm not so sure about shades. When you see in person, do the shades make the candle part look short and stubby.

I think it's your sloped ceiling. I feel the spear is best.

The chain hangs off of a "hook" on the ceiling plate so I don't think it's the sloped ceiling. And I too like the chandelier without the shades.

seayaygern....to tell you the truth neither I nor my husband like this chandilelier. we are both hesitant about it and I think we will end up returning it soon.

hi guys again, spring is almost in the corner and I'm ready do some fresh decor for my living / dining room. I decided to use the pink and purple flower art work for the season. I know that almost all of you did not agree on the size of this art work but I really think it gives the place a fresh look. during the past year I have started to incoperated the color teal to add to my purple furniture. I have tried my best to stage my sofa with different throw pillows but I surely would like your professional advice to pull it all together for a final relaxing , welcoming and sheerful look.

It looks great but like 5 pillows on couch. The first three are my fave. I like purple. Can purple go in a chair?

The chairs are plum so purple is too dark on them .
