There is a Hoya marginata, as well (Schlechter). It is very pottsii-ish, in both leaves and flowers. Whereas fuscomarginata has no prominent venation on it's leaves, marginata has very prominent venation. Marginata also lacks the purple leaf margins that fuscomarginata has.

Fuscomarginata has pinkish coronas and yellow corollas. Marginata has both yellow coronas and corollas.

Fuscus/-a is an adjective meaning "dark", "dusky" or "swarthy".

Marginatus/-a means "margined", "bordered" or "enclosed with a margin"

When two words are joined in a botanical epithet an "o" is used between them so a hyphen isn't needed. I'd say it means "dark margined".
