garage and door colors for new house

Hello! I am hoping for your advice.. We are building a new house this summer. The house will be a combination of stone and stucco. Trim and windows will be beige and stucco/stone will be in the beige/brown family. I want a dark brown front door. I am not sure whether to order dark brown garage doors or match the garage doors to the trim color of the house. I have attached a pic of the front of my house as well as an inspiration picture.. Thanks

I think I'd match the trim or a shade or two darker -- you want them to mostly disappear, not draw attention.

Would you consider removing the stone from the upper part of the wall right of the front door? It looks completely random and inconsistent.

PPF - I would consider anything :) I just thought one wall in stone would break up all of the 4 foot stone then stucco.

I'd go dark on the doors. And if it were mine, I'd do the stone on the front of the house the 4 feet up as you've shown on the house and garage...and then on both sides of the front door and all the way up the entry "tower."

Just a note on the obvious: Your house has far more asphalt shingle than stone. That roof is overwhelming the house. No matter what you do for the doors and finishes, the single largest surface is the roof, and it needs as much attention.

Front loading garages occupy at least 1/3 of the front of this home and to think of it as an afterthought as suggested by some of these posters would be a mistake IMO. I would spend some $$$ on the doors to make sure they are as nice as the rest of the home.

I would think about selecting an exterior color scheme less dated. They have been using your color scheme since the 90's. Make sure your home is not dated in appearance the day you move in or you'll be like many of the posters here that are looking to update homes that are less than 5 years old.

Make sure you select an architectural shingle like Timberline at the very least.

Something classic like this image below will work for decades.

Thank you so much for the great ideas! I will definitely look different doors. Are there any color schemes that you would think look better? There is a lot of gray in our neighbourhood and I figured browns would be the way to go. I love the two toned 30 year shingles.

From looking at the pictures I think the roof i chose looks similar. Will try to ding a picture tomorrow.

Is the house a two story? If not, why such a high roof? It seems like you are paying for an expensive roof line that offers little in the way of function.

The pitch is only 7/12. We have a lot of snow where we live so I wouldn't want to go any lower. Our current house also has a 7/12 roof.
