I think you could handle a medium sized one with an ottoman but to be honest I would reposition the sectional and hang the T.V at proper viewing height on the wall to the left if at all possible and if not lower the art work on that wall.

It seems that from your photos, the open area next to the sectional is like a walk path into that area. That being said, I would want to get a measurement of the floor in that space and check to see how much room you would want for a walk space. I would go from there in what was left from the original floor measurement to see how big of a chair that space can take. I would not want you to cut off access to that area with too big of a chair.

Get that sectional off of the wall and move it into the center of the room. Because you already have that "one large sectional", I would not do another "one large piece" chair. I would get two smaller patterned accents chairs.

It looks like a chair with an ottoman will work well there. It seems like you have adequate space for it.
