So far, rain totals for May and June in East Central Alberta. 29mm in May and 15mm so far in June. That's very low for spring. I hope this doesn't continue. We probably got a good 10mm tonight from a thunderstorm that was supposed to last for 6hrs and was gone in 1hr. Seems to be a similar story over and over.

Hi Plant Love, which site do you prefer for rainfall data? I did a quick search and found myself overwhelmed with info, I tried this one but was not sure what to enter to find out monthly totals, http://climate.weather.gc.ca/index_e.html

I wonder if there is a graph summary out there of rainfall in the past few decades per area? I do notice the plant hardiness zones were adjusted a few years ago (2014?).

Alberta has been too wet and farmers are complaining that they can't put seed down. Spring came late with more snow later, fields couldn't dry out, water levels are high...the highest I've seen in years, my pond is full!

Well as long as Calgary isn't flooding again I'm good

Haha thats funny that we have such opposite problems in the same province. Farmers were complaining about the water because of the 2 feet of snowfall in march and april but our rain out here was practically non existant in may and early june. I used weatherstats.ca as a stats site. Cold lake is the closest area for me.

But with the forecast shaping up like it is, looks like rain will be coming. Which I need due to my 65 techny cedars and I just gave each one a miracle gro fertilizer stick.

Spring rain has been almost a no show here also, lawn turned brown, but we just got 2.5" and others got more. We should be good for awhile now. On the up side no black spot on the roses so far.

Well when you get a predicted 40 and over 50mm of rain three times and many 20mm predictions but don't hit anything over 10, you know plants are going to start suffering without extra water. Only thing saving mine is the lack of summer heat recently

Got my rain! 40mm two nights ago and probably 5mm last night. Weeds growing like crazy on the driveway lol.
