Bathroom vanity light dilemma

Looking for something different in a bathroom vanity light. All of them seem to be some variation on "2/3/4 bulbs in shades on stems pointing up/down" or else a severely contemporary lightbar of some kind. I find the "bulbs in shades" design boring in the extreme, and the lightbars are too modern for what we're doing. We have white tile walls (to about 4 feet, with a cobalt accent line, then drywall painted white), shower in white tile and blue art tiles, a white and black tile floor, wood cabinets in dark brown, Victorian fixtures, and a blue stoneware vessel sink. The lighting has to fit above a mirror; we have about 30" of width to work with.
Is there any other kind of vanity lighting, or are we stuck with those two choices? I've seen a couple art fixtures -- small lights in a tangle of metal vines -- that aren't exciting me either. Maybe I'm just too picky?
