Window Treatment Help Please

Hi, all!

It's been a while since I've visited GardenWeb but since I've been unable to decide on window treatments in nine months, now seems like a good time to ask for some help!

  • I've got three sets of windows that need coverings. They are all open to each other in a living/dining space.
  • I would love to have nice pinch pleat drapes with curtain rings on a decorative rod for all of the windows, but there are some "issues" with each window.
  • I'd like to add some color and pattern. I'm planning on navy blue or navy and beige for the window treatments.
  • I like a traditional/transitional style.
  • The sofas will go eventually, but the rugs will stay.

Here are some pics of the windows.

WINDOW "A"

Issues:

  • Soffits above the window. Not much space for a curtain rod above.
  • Little return space on the sides for curtains to hang when open
  • These windows look out to the street, so I need a lot of privacy at night, but would like to have them uncovered during the day.

I've thought about bamboo blinds or roman shades, possibly with a swag above. Eventually I'll put a sofa or two chairs and a side table in front of this window.

WINDOW "B"

Issues:

  • Bay window. The corners are right next to the window trim so I'm not sure if a curtain rod could extend beyond the window.
  • Soffit in front of the window.
  • I need some privacy from these windows because the neighbors are close. Maybe sheers during the day?

I'd really like to do drapes here, but I'm mostly worried that it would be hard to get a curtain rod in. Also I'm worried that it would draw the eye up and accentuate the soffit.

WINDOW "C"

Issues:

  • Bay window with very odd corners.
  • By a dining area used by kids, need to think about cleaning splatters and greasy hand prints.
  • Privacy not really an issue here.

I've thought about doing a swag here just to add some color and interest, but I'm not sure how I would mount it with the odd corners. May just use hooks instead of a rod?

What do you all think?

Thanks for any and all advice!
