    a wood frame needs to go inside to give the suit case strength and firmness especially once it is cut in half. also a vertical piece so things on the shelf don't s mush the top, it is not as simple as hanging it. then you will have wood to put brackets in. I glued wood cut to fit the top and bottom and used clamps while it dried and then put in small wood screws. cutting it in half with out chewing up the leather is a task as well...super fun!!
